The Minutes of the previous Health and Wellbeing Committee held on the 16th October 2018 were approved and signed as a correct record.

Report of the Children & Families Safeguarding Officer to provide a biannual safeguarding update to the Health & Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee.

 

The Committee requested further clarification on the extent to which sub-contractors received Tamworth Borough Council safeguarding training and it was reported that confirmation was being sought from sub-contractors as part of an on-going audit.

 

RESOLVED

That the Report be endorsed;

 

 

That an update on the status of Councillor Safeguarding training be provided as well as details of forthcoming Safeguarding training dates which Councillors would be able to attend.

The Chair reported that he expected to be able to provide an update on the Motor Neurone Disease Association Charter at the next meeting of the Committee.

Update from Chair

Minutes:

The Chair reported that, noting the timings recorded in the Forward Plan, he expected that the Housing Allocations Policy would be likely to be considered at a later meeting of this Committee, and could be an item for consideration at an additional meeting of this Committee in March.

The Chair reported that he would be circulating to members an update which had been received from the Healthy Staffordshire Select Committee.

Update on Tamworth Offer in relation to Ear Wax Removal

Minutes:

Councillor Bilcliff updated the Committee on the letter received from a GP practice which confirmed that there had been a temporary suspension of the ear wax removal service due to equipment availability.  The Committee thanked Councillor Bilcliff for his work and agreed that this matter could now be removed from the Work Plan.
