Dementia Friendly Update PDF 349 KB (Verbal Report from the Partnership Funding Manager) Minutes: The Committee received a verbal update from the Partnership Funding Manager and Chief Operating Officer, around the areas of development during the last twelve months, from establishing a Local Dementia Action Alliance; Awareness; Local & Community Engagement; Employees & Staff; Access to Information & Advice; Service Access Considerations.
The Tamworth Dementia Action Alliance currently has 3166 Dementia Friends which has increased by 67 people per day, highlighting the success of the Alliance within the place of Tamworth; additionally they have been nominated for a Spirit of Tamworth Award. For the year going forward the Dementia Action Week will take place 21st – 27th May 2018.
· Clarification was sought with regards to the engagement of other Church groups – currently no other groups have come forward, however, it was agreed that this matter would be raised at the next Alliance group meeting.
· The engagement of local General Practitioners is encouraging with the development of the GP Dementia Friends Sessions.
· Good headway is being made with the engagement of other bodies, following the Tamworth Dementia Action Alliance workgroup highlighting issues, for example, getting on and off buses at different bus stops, which is confusing.
· New Singing for the Memory Group has been extended to carers and people with mental health issues as well as those with dementia.
The Committee thanked all connected with the Tamworth Dementia Action Alliance for their dedication, determination and commitment to making it a success.

Inequalities in GP Surgeries Minutes: The findings of the working group are currently being finalised and will be forwarded electronically to the Committee in the next two weeks.

2017/18 Forward Plan PDF 275 KB Minutes: No items for Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny were identified from the Forward Plan.

Minutes: It was agreed to remove the Corporate Plan from the 2017/18 Work Plan. The meeting taking place on 29th March 2017 will be dedicated to an update from the Executive from the Burton Hospital NHS Foundation and the Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation with regards to the collaboration of the hospitals.
