Grant to Tamworth Samaritans

(Report of the Portfolio Holder for Economy and Waste)

Minutes:

Report of the Portfolio Holder for Economy and Waste to seek approval for a further grant agreement be awarded to Tamworth Samaritans  to support the sustainability of a Tamworth Branch to provide a range of services for Tamworth residents.

 

RESOLVED:

that the recommendations within the Report be approved.

Report of the Portfolio Holder for Economy and to agree grant applications to the Council’s Community Grant Scheme

 

Community Grants Applications

 

Lichfield and Tamworth Sea Cadets

£1,000

To purchase 2 kayaks for the group to help gain more experience and practical skills to on the water for new and previous cadet.  The grant is agreed on condition that the Sea Cadets are asked to facilitate free of charge kayaking activities as part of TBC’s summer activity programme next year

The Hygiene Bank – Tamworth Branch

Purchasing toiletry and household cleaning items in bulk for needy families in the Tamworth area – distributed through our partner organisations  i.e. 14 local schools, The Food Bank, CAB, Job Centre, The Heart of Tamworth Charity.

The Committee asked Officers to enquire if the Council could facilitate a donation point in a Council building for the Hygiene Bank. 

 

Festive Grants

 

24 Councillors have agreed to pool their £100 festive grant allocation to support several anchor VCSE organisation as follows:

The Committee approved the Ward Councillor Festive Grants totalling £3850.00 and agreed that the shortfall allocation of £850 for the bids to Festive Grants to fund and support the key projects to our communities during the festive period is met from the Community Grants budget.
