Torc Vocational Centre

(Presentation by Assistant County Commissioner for Education and District Commissioner)

Minutes:

The Assistant County Commissioner for Education and District Commissioner gave a presentation on the changes taking place in the running of Torc Vocational Centre.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That:

The Assistant County Commissioner for Education and District Commissioner be thanked for the presentation;

 

2

Cabinet be asked to actively support the establishment of a Local Education Board and gain a place upon it as a Representative, and;

 

3

The Committee to communicate with local universities regarding links with and provision of education for engineering and science training above level 3.

Conservation Grants

(Presentation by Development Plan Manager)

Minutes:

The Development Plan Manager gave a presentation on Conservation Grants.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That:

The Development Plan Manager be thanked for the presentation;

Cabinet be asked to look at the quotation process for Conservation Grants and how they can maximise local content in locally funded procurement;

 

3

Cabinet to be asked to look at introducing lasting visual signage, so that Tamworth Borough Council can demonstrate its contribution to the local community through its Conservation Grants scheme, and;

 

4

A sub-committee be set up to identify buildings that could benefit from receiving a Conservation Grant.
